Ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on 21-22 May, which will be an important milestone in the cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries, the Commission is issuing two progress reports on the implementation by Georgia and Ukraine of their respective Visa Liberalisation Action Plans (VLAP). This is a sign of the Commission's commitment and of the pace of the measures being taken by the two countries.

Since the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the financial situation of Ukraine remains weak. Debates about economic, financial, military and political assistance are the major topic for discussion among Ukraine and foreign partners. But if military assistance is almost denied, financial help is being granted on a permanent basis. During last year and the beginning of 2015, Ukraine has received vast sums of money from the EU, the USA, Japan and Canada. But to assure economic development it is, obviously, not enough. The problem remains: there are almost no investments, which have been declining over past two years.

Putin uses two ways to do this: he constructs lies around deep stereotypes, routed in basic cultural instincts and he misuses the basic principles of post-moderning, where false opinions are excepted for granted as truth without critics and rejection.
