EU Delegation opens a call for applications for the 7th EU Study Days session




The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, in cooperation with the Centre for Ukrainian Reform Education, announces a call for applications for the 7th session of the EU Study Days project.


The seventh session will be conducted from 2 to 6 April in Odesa, and will target students and graduates from Ukraine’s Southern regions. The EU Study Days will create an opportunity for Ukrainian university students and graduates to:

 

  • get more information about the European Union and EU-Ukraine relations from key experts in the field;
  • comprehensively study major issues in EU-Ukraine relations in all key fields (politics, security, economy, energy, law, values, visa issues, Association Agreement);
  • gain the opportunity to get in touch with rep! resentatives from the EU institutions, key experts and researchers;
  • develop a network of young people in Ukraine, which will be able to exchange their experience and implement joint initiatives in the future.

 

Who is eligible to apply?

 

The project is open to Ukrainian university students in their last years or recent graduates (who graduated max. three years ago) from Odesa city, as well as from Odeska, Kirovohradska, Mykolaivska, Khersonska, Zaporizka  oblasts and Autonomous Republic of Crimea (target regions of the 7th session).

 

Priority will be given to students and graduates who obtained (or are obtaining) education in the following fields: international relations, European studies, law, political science, economy, finance, business, sociology, journalism, history, cultural studies, philosophy, philology.

 

How to apply?

 

Applications can be sub! mitted online through a special questionnaire available here.

 

Deadline for applications: March 18th, 2014, 23.00.

 

40 persons from the target regions will be selected to participate in the session. The selection will be made on the basis of the submitted application upon the following criteria: a) competence of the applicant; b) coverage of the biggest possible number of regions; c) applicant’s proficiency in English (knowledge of English is required to participate in the project).

 

About the project

 

The EU Study Days is an education project initiated by the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine. It provides the opportunity for Ukrainian university students and graduates to gain deeper and wider knowledge about the European Union and EU-Ukraine relations from key experts in the field and from different viewpoints. The project also facilitates ! the establishment of a network of young Ukrainians who will be able to share their experiences and implement joint initiatives in the future.

 

Participation is free of charge. The project covers travel, accommodation and meals of participants from other cities.

 

Ukrainian and English are the two official languages of the EU Study Days series.

 

Four sessions of the EU Study Days took place in Kyiv in 2013: in March, April, May та June 2013. The following sessions of the EU Study Days were held in October in Dnipropetrovsk and in November in Lviv. In 2013-2014 academic year, the EU Study Days project will conduct 2 more sessions in different Ukrainian regions.
