EU-Ukraine relations in the context of current situation




On March 21, 2014 at 12.00 in Sumy (conference hall of Ukrainian Academy of Banking of National Bank of Ukraine, 57 Petropavlivska Str.) the EU Delegation to Ukraine organizes a seminar “EU-Ukraine relations in the context of current situation”. The EU Delegation warmly invites to discuss the current stage of EU-Ukraine relations and prospects of further cooperation and European integration of Ukraine.


Experts of the seminar will discuss the ongoing political relations between E! U and Ukraine, EU-Ukraine trade and economic relations, program of EU financial support to Ukraine and a range of reforms required for integration with European Union. 

 

The EU Delegation cordially invites students and professors of the Academy, EU experts, representatives of local self-governing bodies, civil society leaders, media and representatives of business circles to discuss the most up-to-date issues on the agenda of EU-Ukraine relations.

  • Role of the Association agreement in Ukrainian reforms;
  • Economic and trade aspects of EU-Ukraine relations;
  • Economic advantages and challenges from signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and their significance for the understanding of the current situation;
  • Analysis and refuting of the Association Agreement myths;
  • Visa aspects of EU-Ukraine relations;
  • Pieces of advice on how to work with EU-related information.

 

Seminar experts:

 

  • Zoltan Szalai, Head of Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine;
  • Olena Melnyk, Head of the Department of European integration in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine;
  • Volodymyr Yermolenko, director of EU-related media projects at Internews Ukraine and senior professor of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, doctor of political studies (EHESS, Paris).

 

Seminar “EU-Ukraine relations in the context of current situation” is a part of “Building Europe in Ukraine” information campaign conducted by the EU Delegation to Ukraine during the year. The campaign is aimed at spreading European values and raising citizens’ awareness on the EU-Ukraine relations.
